Rafting and River Fishing on the Kitka River

This unique adventure combines whitewater rafting, river fishing and the breathtaking wilderness of Oulanka National Park into an unforgettable experience in northern Finland.

Your guide will pick you up from the Ruka–Kuusamo area before we prepare with rafting equipment and head towards the Jyrävä waterfall. After a short walk, we begin our journey down the flowing Kitka River through the spectacular landscapes of Oulanka National Park all the way towards the Russian border.

During the day, we stop to fish carefully selected locations along the river. Traveling by raft allows us to reach remote fishing spots that are rarely accessed by foot, making the fishing experience especially rewarding. Along the route, there are also excellent opportunities for dry fly fishing in beautiful flowing waters.

We focus mainly on grayling and whitefish fishing while enjoying the sound of rapids, peaceful river scenery and the atmosphere of the northern wilderness. A hearty outdoor lunch is served during the excursion.
